NFC Technology Limitless Scenarios

 2006-08-27 Switzerland

Near Field Communications technology has rapidly grown in the last 2 years and we are seeing more and more implementations of NFC technology being used by consumers like you and me.

In Europe alone there have been many high profile beta tests done by major manufacturers like Phillips, Nokia, Sony, and other NFC Forum members that have proven that consumers really do want to live in a "smart world". The application scenarios using NFC technology are limitless and can one day be the universal multi-purpose contactless way of daily interaction. NFC technology ticketing has already been introduced in football stadiums, public transportation systems and smartposters/smartsigns in many European countries.

NFC applications include and are not limited to ticketing, payment transactions, banking, marketing, health tech, packaging, tracking, travel, transportation, smart signs, and the list goes on and on. The   NFC  Forum   is the official  governing body of NFC Technology and says "NFC is not a fashionable nice-to-have technology, but actually a technology that makes peoples lives easier - easier to pay for goods and services, easier to use public transport, and easier to share data between devices."
