WIMA 2007 was an exciting and truly a momentous event for the NFC Forum and those who participated. The WIMA 2007 NFC Developers Forum in Monaco was a complete success for both organiser, exhibitors, and visitors who participated. The 1st European NFC Developers conference presented by WIMA this year brought together a wide variety of participating members representing many of the major players in the new field of communications, NFC technology. The 1st NFC Developers Competition held in Europe was divided into two tracks; - Track A: "Best NFC Implementation of the Year 2007" This years winner;
Nedap Netherlands - IO Concept Healthcare Innovations Through NFC Technology - Track B: "Most Innovative NFC Proposal of the Year 2007" This years winner;
VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland SeeingEyePhone - A Vision Of The Future
(Tapio Matinmikko, Sonja Leskinen, Vili Törmänen) With over 50 initial entries for the competition, the NFC Forum jury members had a really tough time choosing two overall winners. Gerhard Romen, Head of Market Development, Nokia, Finland / Marketing Committee Chair, NFC Forum noted that most entries were exceptional, well presented and looked forward to the future 2008 NFC Developers Competition entries.
